Jennifer Simmons Designs Fashion Shoot

A while ago I did my first shoot in the new studio in Lowell, and although I posted some pics on my Facebook fan page, I never did a blog post about all the cool images we got! The shoot was designed to create portfolio images for talented local fashion designer Jennifer Simmons. We had fun coming up with a simple look for the session that complimented the style of the clothes and added detail without distracting from the fashions. The clothes were modeled by the lovely Carli Rosencranz. Here are some of my favorite images from the shoot:

Do you wish you could be a fashion model for a day? Call me to book a Friends and Fashion party at the studio! These sessions are SO fun, and you can check out my website for more info.

Spring Portraits with real baby ducks!

I am so excited to be able to do spring mini-sessions this year with real live baby ducks! This is something I have wanted to do for years, but never had the opportunity. We will also have a bunny for just good measure. These adorable critters will be in the studio Friday, April 22nd and Saturday April 23 – Easter Weekend. So break out those Easter outfits and call (479)566-9856 to book your 30 minute session. Remember, Mother’s Day is May 8th, and what momma doesn’t love getting pictures as presents! Sessions are $50.00 plus tax and include 30 minutes in the studio, an online gallery, and one 5×7 of your favorite image – a great deal! Space is limited, and time slots will be given on a first come, first served basis. This is going to be SO much fun, and I hope to see you there!

P.S. My google linked number listed above seems to be flaking out on me. You can also call (479)839-4321 or email me at steelyjoestudio@gmail.com

Cherokee Casino Bridal Fair

This past weekend, I participated in the annual bridal fair at Cherokee Casino in West Siloam Springs. Bridal fairs are a fun environment for brides to meet vendors in person and get inspiration for their weddings. I met lots of great brides to be, and many of the vendors at this show are friends of mine, and it’s always nice catching up with them, too. Here are some pictures from a quick trip around the room:

A beautiful dress on display from the White Dress Boutique.

The food that the Cherokee Casino catering group put out was so beautiful! The food sculptures were so detailed and the table was set to wow!

I love to see the tulips make an appearance in floral arrangements because it means spring is almost here. These beauties are from Rose of Sharon Event Florist .

A fun decorating idea from the ladies at PlanIt Chic - they flipped over glasses and hurricane vases and put flowers underneath. Then the bases can be used to hold trays or candles. Neat!

My next door booth neighbors were live doves from White Wing loft. I thought they were fake till one turned its head to look at me!

As the weather warms up, I am doing more and more consultations for summer/fall weddings. If you are engaged, I would love to talk to you. Stop by my website, then contact me to schedule a visit to the studio to talk about capturing the details of your special day!

The beautiful Hollis Family

My last post was about Anita and Kenny’s wedding, and this one is about their first family portrait session, which we did the day after the wedding. The ground was pretty wet, and there was a little snow still on the ground in some places, but the weather was fantastic! This family was so much fun to work with and I am looking forward to doing some senior portraits for them in the near future. It was hard to decided which images to post from this session, I had so many favorites!

The Hollis crew. This session was done at Reed's Bridge Park in Jacksonville.

These girls are so photogenic, it makes my job really easy 🙂

The men folk lookin cool.

This was one of those candid shots that I really like.

The lens flare in this picture is perfect. And that barn - man I wish I had it here in Northwest Arkansas!
