Jill and Tim’s Wedding

Yea! The spring wedding season is finally here! I drove out to Eureka Springs today to shoot a small wedding in a really cool private residence that was built in the 1920s using the same techniques used to build castles in Europe. The cermony was in the great room in front of a beautiful fireplace.  Tim and Jill are a very sweet couple and I wish them all the best! Here is a sneak peak at some of the images:

Rachel’s Bridal Portraits

What a stroke of good luck we had on the weather! Due to her work schedule, we had to pick a date and time for her portraits 3 weeks in advance. It rained all day the day before and most of the day of the shoot. We really wanted to use the beautiful apple orchard at Battlefield park in Prairie Grove – so the rain needed to stop! It cleared off about an hour before our 6:00 shoot and stayed clear until about 10 minutes after we were done. She wore the cutest rain boots under her wedding dress for tromping around in the wet grass and was such a good sport about it. I would love to post some of the images, but since her wedding is not until May 30th, we have to keep them away from prying eyes!

Update: Since it is now after May 30, here are a few of my favorites from the bridal portrait session:

The antique chair was Rachel's idea (I borrowed it from my aunt), and it looks great in the orchard setting.

This was my take on an image Rachel showed me in a magazine. Mine came out pretty different, but I like the result.

Working with kids

Working with very young kids is always a challenge! This portrait session last week proves that you can’t always control the events of the day, but sometimes that gives you the best images! A very determined 2 year old is hard to keep out of the pond if you are distracted with his sibblings. The last image shows dad arriving just a spit second too late to avoid the inevitable…

Amanda and Scott’s Engagement Shoot

Tuesday was a beautiful day at Devil’s Den (by far my most popular location for engagement pictures). The dogwoods and redbuds were all blooming and the rain the day before made the waterfall at the spillway very pretty. Amanda and Scott were fun and very easy to work with and I look forward to photographing their wedding on on June 6th.

Keeping Up

Today I hesitantly enter the world of blogging. I think I must be one of few photographers in Northwest Arkansas that did not have a blog site. I actually had to do some research on what in the world to put on this page! Oh well, I am a fast learner and am sure I will catch on quick. I sure don’t want to become one of those people stuck in the past and complaining about all that “new fangled” technology…
